Thembinkosi Mzinzi, a local artist, is painting a work of art in honour of Zing on some of the walls in Mbekweni, Paarl.

This is Zing’s very first township wall of advertising and the slogan on the wall means “Zing the thirst quencher”.

Zing was put in the spotlight at this month's Afri-Save Traders Club meeting on 20 July, where our crew gave a fruity Zing presentation. The aim of the talk was to give the club members some inside information on Zing and its various flavours. As always the tasting cups went along and the loyal club members were all too keen to give the fruity sips a try.

Even after the last testing cup was drained, the joy kept on flowing as we handed out gifts and prizes - the biggest of which being the customary R10 000 lucky draw. This time around the lucky winner turned out to be Mr Hofnie Barnard, who proudly walked off with a cheque tucked in his pocket and a smile glowing

On Friday, 24 September 2010, e-TV and Frontline Marketing took a vote and decided: it's a nice day for a braai.

Zing Fruit Juice attended this braai in style, with branded point-of-sale items and a gazebo to match. To create further awareness, Zing gave out complementary 200 ml fruit juices to the braaiers, slaaiers and all-round good people attending the fiery festivities.

Wheelchair event moves community

Zing Fruit Juice was proudly involved with the Mitchell's Plain Eskom Wheelchair Race on 6 November 2010. Local communities participated in full flair, while participants came from as far as Mosselbay and Oudtshoorn.

The enthusiasm of the racers were evident, as it was felt by everybody present. The riders' faces all gleamed with a sense of belonging, while they enjoyed the spotlight and support of the community!

On Friday, the 11th of June, merely a few hours before the 2010 FIFA World Cup kick off, Virgin Active Tygervalley hosted a Diski Dance 101 to the Outsurance and SIAS offices. The Diski Dance consists of successive choreographed soccer movements and is featured in a TVC by South African Tourism.

Club Big Bay recently hosted the Western Province Lifesaving Championships where approximately 300 Nippers competed. Fifty of these Nippers proudly hailed from Club Big Bay.

Club Big Bay's Nippers performed very well. The u/10s won their category, while Romano De Freitas received nine gold medals as well as the trophy for Best Competitor u/10.

The u/12 Girls took first place in their category, while the u/12 Boys took second place in theirs. Kristin Belingan received the trophy for Best Female Competitor u/12, while Katja Toms was one point behind her - well done, girls!

The u/14s ended up in second place in their category.

The Nippers enjoyed a fun-filled day of good spirited competition and Zing Fruit Juice. Club Big Bay's Nippers are looking forward to continuing and improving their good form.

The campaign aims to educate children, their parents and their role players about their rights, needs and responsibilities to sustain a child friendly environment. On the 12th of August 2009, Tygerbear hosted a celebration at Ratanga Junction to raise further awareness about their cause.

A mass amount of children from surrounding schools, organizations and institutions were invited. Here, the children were entertained by celebrities, with Jak de Priester and Lize Beekman, among others. The kids were treated to goodie bags filled with lots of surprises, including Zing Fruit Juice.

Zing Fruit Juice took part in the Spar Inland Trade Show 2009. Here, Zing had the opportunity to inform Spar owners about the Zing brand. This created great awareness among the owners from the North, South and Lowveld regions, which also meant that successful sales were achieved: 4 800 cases of Zing 1 liter were sold. The Zing stand was awarded third place for The Best Stand-category, with their colourful display including the mini bikes and all. This was quite an achievement, as big brand contenders (like Coca-Cola) were competing in the same category.

Zing Fruit Juice sponsored a water point at the Bainskloof Ultra Marathon 2008, which was held on Heritage Day, the 24th of September. Heritage Day is a celebration in which South Africans recognise aspects of our country's unique culture: creative expression, history and the languages we speak.

The idea behind the marathon was to meet the demand for an Ultra Marathon in the Boland to promote Bainskloof as a Natural Heritage Sight, and to benefit the community.

The route led the runners through the picturesque Lemietberg Nature Reserve's breathtaking scenery - with a few baboons and other local inhabitants along the way! The day was rather rainy, which spoiled the anticipated outcome. But the participants made the best of the day, and the Zing Team kept the spirits high and entertained. The potjie stand was a fun affair, which had Marius trying to counter the cold, rainy day with a newly invented tribal dance around a delicious potjie prepared by our very capable cooks!

Graeme Cairns, manager and caregiver of St. George's Home for girls in Wynberg was grateful for the amount of Zing Fruit Juice that they received from Pacmar.

St. Georges Home for girls in Wynberg was surprised with an enormous
amount of Zing Fruit Juice, kindly donated by Pacmar, holding company
for Zing, Wilde and Crystal Falls juice. Graeme Cairns, manager and
caregiver of St. Georges Home for Girls explains that "It is unreal to
see such a large quantity of juice, more than one can find in a grocery
store. The girls and I really appreciate this donation as the Zing fruit
juice will be ideal for them to take to school and will fit easily into
their lunch boxes."

St. Georges Home for girls has been in existence for almost 150 years,
caring for the first girl in 1862. The Wynberg branch is currently the
only residential care facility within the Wynberg District which
provides for children in need and is celebrating their 40th year of
caregiving. Upon this wonderful occasion, we at Zing would like to
congratulate St. Georges and wish them much success in the future.

Laas jaar het Team Zing, bestaande uit Jacques Groenewald en Ferdi Schenk, in die Trans Atlantic Wedvaart deelgeneem, ter voorbereiding vir die Trans Agulhas wat later sou volg. In die Trans Atlantic, tussen Strandfontein en Bloubergstrand, het Team Zing 3de in die P750-standaardklas geëindig.

Die Rat Race Media Trans Agulhas het op 28 Desember 2007 in Plettenbergbaai afgeskop. Die wedvaart het aangemeld by 22 verskillende kuspunte, waar daar by vyf oornag is. Ten spyte van die wedvaarte, was daar ook King of the Waves gehou by elke hoofstrand waar daar gestop is. Die Trans Agulhas staan bekend as een van die uitdagendste wedvaarte en is ook die oudste van sy soort in Suid-Afrika.
Dus doen deelnemers goeie resies-ondervinding op. Daar het altesame 49 motorbote deelgeneem, waarvan ons Team Zing, bestaande uit Jacques Groenewald en Adriaan van Wijk, deel was.

In dag een se vaart van Plettenbergbaai tot Mosselbaai het Team Zing die P750-standaardklas (Novice) gewen. Dit was 'n resies met tawwe kompetisie, want hulle moes jaag om voor te bly.

Team Zing het hul goeie vertoning voortgesit in dag twee se vaart tussen Mosselbaai en Stilbaai deur tweede te kom en hul voorsprong in die Novice Klas te behou.

Mis het dinge bemoeilik op die derde dag. Maar Team Zing het nie teleurgestel in die Stilbaai tot Struisbaai resies nie. Hulle het egter tweede gekom in beide die middagroete sowel as die nagresies.

Team Zing het derde gekom op die vierde dag se resies tussen Struisbaai en Hermanus.

Op die finale dag het Team Zing weer 'n skitterende derde plek behaal, en het 'n volle 20 minute voor hul naaste teenstaander geëindig. Die vaart het gestrek van Hermanus tot Strand.

Team Zing het algeheel derde plek verower in die Trans Agulhas P750-standaardklas. Hulle het ook die beste stuurman en mede-stuurman van die Trans Agulhas gewen.

Team Zing se Jacques Groenewald en Adriaan van Wijk het die volgende te sê gehad: "Baie dankie aan ons borge, uitstekende landspan en ondersteuning van vriende en familie. Nou lê daar 'n taai nasionale seisoen voor, maar ons is reg vir dit!"
